Question My asus TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI won't align w/ my standoffs. Can I fit it in? This is my first build.

My asus TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI won't fit into my used iBuyPower case's standoffs. I know I'm using the ATX ones only and they are pre-installed, however nothing fits. The MoBo also has a pre-installed I/O shield. Any help is great!

ATX is ATX.
iBuyPower is not really special in this regard.

Possibly the i/o shield is different, and you need to use what came with the motherboard.

Probably just the reinstalled IO shield being difficult. Sometimes they need force to snap in.

But it's built into the mobo. And I've hear its prob not a good idea to rip it out.

The I/O shield is generally connected to the case.
The motherboard just touches it.

Can't tell from your pics if that is the issue.

Well, my I/O shield is literally stuck to the motherboard by design. W/ solder joints.

Maybe its a problem with the motherboard since it's only really the holes on the top that are misaligned.

More likely it is a problem with the iBuyPower case.

Alright, I got the standoffs roughly with the holes on the motherboard, but its still a bit unaligned. Is this fine? I can still get the screws in flush & fine though on the edge of the hole/misaligned.

Do the screws go in?
If so...no prob.

So how is it still not fine if my screws are able to make contact w/ the standoffs while still being within the hole, how is that a problem?

Also the standoffs are not touching any traces in the board since their is a 3/4 cm gap between the hole and the traced part of the board.

Do you actually have stand offs under each hole in the motherboard, not just the places where stand offs get screwed in?

Some cases have built in stand offs. Others have ones you screw into place. There are even some with both types.

That is what my original question was trying to determine. You mentioned a gap.

The gap implies something is missing or something is preventing the motherboard from seating in place properly.
