Question DPC Watchdog violations.

Hi, i'm having issues with my PC throwing DPC watchdog violations at random, in the beginning it was almost exclusively while playing AOE4, but rarely happened while playing other things, or browsing youtube etc. more recently it's started happening more often during idle/low workloads, and quite a lot for frequent in other games.

0x00000133 (0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000001e00, 0xfffff805ad1c43b0, 0x0000000000000000 this is the code i recieved when i let the pc hard reset on it's own which took about 5 minutes, all the while my music, game and discord sound was completely normal, some times the game sound starts looping the most recent sound, like a engine rev repeating instead of doing whatever the car was doing etc. usually when this happens the screen just goes black, sometimes the fans all spin to 100% until the reset, and my monitor just shows 'No Source detected'

any idea where to start? my IT friend told me watchdogs are usually due to anti virus, but google says it's memory related, i'm at a loss here, performance wise the PC is at a 100%, no issues there.

my IT friend told me watchdogs are usually due to anti virus, but google says it's memory related, i'm at a loss here, performance wise the PC is at a 100%, no issues there

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

some times the game sound starts looping the most recent sound, like a engine rev repeating instead of doing whatever the car was doing etc. usually when this happens the screen just goes black
Perhaps try powering your system without any of the CableMod cables for your GPU and see if the issue persists. Are you working with any vertical riser cables?

You forgot to mention the OS you're working with, outside of the assumption that you're on Windows.

i don't have the OG cables, they didnt come in the box from the shop.
Windows 11.
